Arrested Development: Overcoming Childhood Wounds

How long, O you sons of men, will you turn my glory to shame? How long will you love worthlessness and seek falsehood? (Ps 4:2).

The thesis of this article is that Kingdom entrepreneurs represent an engine that can transform a nation from one of self-centered individuals to one of other-centered people who love God and each other. A transformed society is characterized by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Gal 5:22); whereas an untransformed society is subject to sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery, idolatry and witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy, drunkenness, orgies, and the like (Gal 5:19-21).

"When God thinks of you, love swells in his heart." I can imagine the thoughts going through your mind as you reflect on that statement. For many of us, this idea is hard to accept. Do you really believe God loves you, even delights in you? If you are a follower of Christ you will probably give me the politically correct answer and say, "Yes. I believe He does." However, most of us will respond to that statement perhaps with a "Well, yes, but.". It is hard for us to believe God loves us without adding a "but" after the statement. The very statement challenges our theology about God. Many of us associate the nature of God with holiness, judgment, and righteousness. This is chapter 1 of a book by Os Hillman entitled, Experiencing the Father's Love.

Do you ever feel condemned? Do you have trouble experiencing God's love? Did you grow up with very little verbal affirmation in your life? Do you reject the love of others? Do you feel you are not worthy of other people's love? Do you have relationships that often end because you reject people because of what you think they are doing to you? Is it hard to maintain long-term relationships? If you answered yes to any of these questions you may be impacted by a spirit of rejection.
Dennis Peacocke • Evangelism
The best way to evangelize anyone anywhere is to simply live our faith. Our most effective witness as individuals, a church, or a company is to embody evangelism as a lifestyle rather than a contrived program. People sense the difference between the authenticity of our love for them in Christ and our targeting them as part of our "soul-winning" endeavors. As in all things, only the real deal works

If you are being impacted by the current economic downturn let me encourage you not to fear! We know who holds the future. And that is Who we place our trust in. Realize that fear is not from God. 2 Tim 1:7 tells us that "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. "

He didn't begin this job until he was sixty-nine years old. He had already had a successful Hollywood movie career and decided to try his hand at politics. He would be known by one job more than any other. He would also be known as one of the United State's greatest statesmen. He had a faith that was genuine but not intruding or very public, but you knew where he stood. He always treated people, even his detractors with grace. He was known for his extraordinary love he had for his wife.

Discover Your Purpose
Your decision about Jesus Christ is the single most important decision that you will ever make. It will determine whether you will experience a life filled with purpose, or purposelessness. Why do we say that? Well, consider the following statements from the Bible. In John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by Me," and the Apostle John declared, "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). If it's true that Jesus and what He did for us on the cross is the only way to the Heavenly Father and eternal life, it makes your response to Jesus Christ something that will impact your life for eternity.

He who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I too will love him and show Myself to him. - John 14:21b

Many Christians wonder why they cannot hear or sense God's presence in their life. It is because they do not seek Him with a whole heart, and they are not obedient to the things He has asked.
